GRADING:
A word of
introduction:
I am first and foremost a
collector. I collect old and rare classical vocals, primarily in the original
78 (nominal) rpm form. You might call me a "Bauer" collector. I have
a fondness for the 39000 series FONOTIPIAs, early G&Ts, ODEONs and
ZONOPHONEs. The main reason being simply that they usually feature the voice -
in a very forward way – with, usually, only a minimal piano accompaniment. I
often acquire records and, after the fun of playing them, keep only those that
have a very strong appeal. These days my tastes are centered in Song; Lieder
and Melodie. I seek only to recover my
costs and so a discriminating collector may find opportunities in my Lists to acquire fairly uncommon records at
reasonable prices.
I will pay very good prices to collectors looking to dispose of part or all of their collections. Since I am primarily a collector I can afford to pay more than those who are purely dealers. I can also usually arrange to visit and inspect such collections, and, if a price can be agreed upon I can pay immediately - in cash, and take the records away myself. Please write or call if you would like to discuss such a possibility

GRADING:
2+ Known to be unused. (usually reserved
for sealed LPs only).
2 to 2+ A
top copy - virtually as NEW.
2 or better Between
2 and 2+
2 A
very fine copy with the possibility of only one or two (purely cosmetic)
rubs or marks.
2- Some
purely cosmetic (optical) rubs or marks.
3 More
noticeable rubs, marks and non-sounding blemishes. An "average" copy. Slight
audible wear is usually found when "greying" is
indicated.
If both sides are in the same condition, one code only is
given. If the two sides are in differing conditions the gradings will be
separated by a double slash (//): i.e., a record graded as 2 to 2+ // 2-3 is to
be interpreted as:- Side 1: not quite 2+ but better than 2; Side 2: not
quite 2 but better than 3
I have tried to be fair and conservative with the grading.
Any item which is considered to be inferior to the description given may be
returned, within 30 days after receipt, for a full and immediate refund
including the costs of postage. No detailed explanation is necessary.
